Ömer Melih Gül

Dr. Ömer Melih Gül received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronics engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey, in 2012, 2014, and 2020, respectively. From 2012 to 2020, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at METU. He also worked for the Turkish Patent Institute from 2017 to 2019. His research interests focus on networking, scheduling algorithms, cognitive radio, IoT, UAV, robotic networks, and blockchain. He has published 15 works in conferences/journals and 1 book chapter. He was awarded third place in the 2019 Lance Stafford Larson Outstanding Student Paper Award by the IEEE Computer Society. He also became one of the three finalists in the Poster Competition at the 2021 IEEE Rising Stars Global Conference. Currently, he is both the Region 8 Coordinator of the Geographic Activities Committee and a vice-chair (for YP activities) of the Student& Young Professionals Activities Committee in the IEEE Computer Society.
